Writer/director/producer Marti King Young will host two screenwriting workshops at the Script-Com Screenwriters Conference at Nashville Film Institute on Nov. 16.

Marti's 'Psychology of Screenwriting: How To Hypnotize Your Reader’ workshop helps writers visualize shots faster by using active voice over passive voice and it examines dominant traits vs emotional wounds and why they matter.

In the ‘Understanding Conflict in Screenwriting’ workshop Marti defines conflict, the four levels of conflict, the six types of conflict, and the central conflict that drives the narrative of a screen story.

Marti currently works on the hit ABC series ‘Will Trent,’ and has also worked on ‘Annabelle Comes Home,’ ‘The Conjuring 3,’ ‘Sweet Magnolias,’ ‘Class of ’09,’ and ‘Genius: Aretha.’ She has worked alongside industry giants such as James Wan (‘Saw,’ ‘Aquaman’), Nina Jacobson (‘Pirates of the Caribbean,’ ‘The Hunger Games’), and Sheryl Anderson (‘Charmed,’ Sweet Magnolias’). Marti also wrote and directed the award-winning short film ‘The Adventures of Wonderboy’ and has recently landed a directing gig on a feature film.

In addition to polishing screenplays for LA producers, Marti teaches screenwriting at The Good Word Writer’s Retreat in Patmos, Greece. She was featured in the German publication Cinewomen for her contributions to advancing women in film, and is a proud member of the Alliance of Women Directors.
