Screenwriter and producer Alvaro Rodriguez, best known for writing Machete and the From Dusk Till Dawn franchise, brings his chops to the Script-Com Screenwriters Conference in Nashville on November 16 and 17.
Alvaro's workshop, "There Will Be Blood" will dig deep into the heart of horror and action storytelling. Writers will learn the tropes of each genre, how to lean into them, and how to subvert them. Alvaro also applies his experience in episodic television on series like Showtime's American Rust, Netflix's Florida Man, Chicago Fire for NBC, and on the Netflix animated series Seis Manos. He'll also be part of a roundtable discussion on the state of Tennessee's film industry.
Alvaro will give an award to the winner of the Tennessee Screenwriting Association's Short 'N Scary script contest and do a meet and greet with conference attendees on the set of TSA's streaming series Page 2 Screen at a live taping on Sunday, Nov. 17.
Details on all conference activities and tickets to Script-Com are at www.ScriptCom.org. Discounts are available for students, members of the Tennessee Screenwriting Association, and members of SAG-AFTRA Nashville.
